Game History

UMK3 expanded the character roster by including ninja characters like Kitana, Jade, Reptile, and Scorpion, introducing secret characters through the Ultimate Kombat Code. Two new modes, 2-on-2 and an eight-player Tournament mode, were added. Gameplay balance was adjusted with new moves and altered combos. The game added new backgrounds and stage fatalities, while some elements from the original MK3, such as certain biographies and stages, were removed.
